Lots of sferics around North Wales and especially in and around Snowdonia National Park! Most seems to be in the last hour... anyone in that area able to confirm and also, its direction? That weather band seems to square its direction off, the more east it gets...?

Intensity really picking up as the band pushes ESE, expect more widespread sferics along that band as it moves on.

Continuous thunder and lightning for the last 5 minutes, heavy rain, gusting winds, small hail, people running for cover below me in the centre of Leicester..... exciting!

Sferics on blitz app for android shows clearly the band moving quickly from the north west to south east, well defined lines of sferics, red (oldest) to orange to yellow to white!! Quite easy to identify the white ones locally just after the (in real life) strike to appearing on the plot!!!!!
Never experienced this in January, late April yes, what on earth is providing the energy and trigger? Can't be heat? Can it?

It was hilarious watching people run for cover on Granby St screaming as they did so while the men just strolled on by not giving a damn. This was just a fast moving front with a large temperature difference either side

Several of the road weather stations here in the West Midlands have shown a 6 to 7 degree fall in temperature in as little as 20 minutes as the squall came through.
