Expect some twists and turns perhaps as the latest GFS confirms the uncertainty in the Countryfile forecast around the end of the week with the cold still around over the weekend.

Just seen weatherview on the beeb, they going for the Atlantic to spoil the cold snap by the latter part of next weekend, seemed quite a bullish prediction so far away but guess going on what they see currently

So I guess once the Atlantic sticks its big nose in again how long will that stick around:-/

Cannot believe the BBC website states that Britain is preparing for a big freeze!! They've caught Expressalitis!!

Still, if the Somerset levels freeze over they can carry the ice away!!!

I particularly liked

Freezing gales and blizzards will hit the North, while fierce easterly winds will see temperatures plummet to -5C (23F) in the South by the week’s end.

Right that's it! I give in! We can't even manage any settled weather or cold weather :-(

Just heard Darren Bett on BBC1 1035 FORECAST saying this...

"It's only a brief cold snap... because by the weekend...the Atlantic winds will return!"
