Even last might was a non event for the Pennines - this morning as I looked to the east there was nothing on the hills. Sums up this Winter really.

Aha! A few wet snowflakes mixed in with the rain here in Reading!

Last night at around 4am, it might have snowed heavily at my home location for about 15 minutes but without accumulation. Alas, I may never know the truth, although Boscomde Down reported a light snow shower at the time.

Is this thread a joke?

There more chance of me having a 'menage a trois' with Ellie Harrison and Julia Bradbury (Mmmmm ) than seeing any proper wintry precipitation here in North Kent. Plenty of cold rain, but no chance of snow!!

I must have been very lucky on Sunday afternoon to see so much snow! Not in penrith but on the M40 in Warwickshire between 4.30pm and 5pm.

Heavy rain turned to snow and hail which blew almost horizontal in the strong wind, the temperature fell to 1c and for a few minutes the motorway surface vanished under the swirling snow bringing traffic to a crawl. It looked very impressive in the car headlights and motorway lighting.

By the time I stopped at Warwick services it had turned back to sleet but a mixture of rain, sleet and wet snow continued all the way to Stokenchurch when at 700feet above sea level it turned to drizzle and the temperature rose quickly to 4c

Needless to say that London today was just cold and damp

Just so you know. It was snowing over London this afternoon. I flew through it on the plane. First time I have flew through snow then rain on ground. Quite a "cool" experience :)
