Continous rain since 8am. Truly dreadful. Just driven back up M1 from London and travelling conditions are appalling. An easy 50mph all the way

Streamer conditions all day here, a constant supply of continuous and moderate rain. Shame it is not cold enough to turn the percipitation into the type many of us would like.

Oh well hopefully February may bring something

Observations between 7.30 pm last night and 7.30 pm currently.

LAST NIGHT: Cloudy, then rain in the second half of the night.
THIS MORNING: Overcast with outbreaks of rain. However there was a slight chink of brightness by noon time.
THIS AFTERNOON: Rather cloudy, then it started raining at 5 pm onwrds.
CURRENT:    Raining.        5.4 C.       Dewpoint: 3.4 C.        87% humidity.         Fresh east wind.         Rising to 996.4 mb.

WINDS: Fresh to strong south east last night and into this morning, then moderate to fresh east in afternoon..
AIR QUALITY: Fresh!
VISIBILITY: Very good.
COMFORT FACTOR: Cold and wet, especially in the wind. At least the bit of brightness we did have prevented it from looking too bleak.
RAINFALL (in mm):     7.2
TEMPERATURES (in C):        Max: 7.0 at 12 am last night.          Min: 4.8 at 12.45 pm (how's that for a role reversal?).

Forgot to pack my dry socks this morning so had wet feet most of the day after cycling through the cold rain to work. Then got soaked by slightly colder rain on the way across London, and now it's still raining as I'm about to get off the train and cycle home.

Temp 3 deg C or thereabouts. Joy.
