That one with the coach is very similar to what we had here in 1987. We were cut off for just over a week until they cleared the drifts on the only road over the hill at Eastchurch. When it was eventually ploughed, I remember vividly being on the school bus (well, coach) and seeing snow towering over both sides just as in that picture.
That was around a 20-foot snowdrift. Over on the mainland, near Sittingbourne, there were reports of 30-foot drifts. Of course, I didn't get to see those in person!
