Due to a lack of snow and cold, I took myself to Finland for a week - log cabin near Pyha north of the Arctic Circle. -10 to -15 most days and one night it fell to -30c

Here a few of my photos

Fantastic pics, Paul! It's been a poor year in the Pennines this winter, so I can fully understand the reason for your trip.

Out of interest, was it easy to find/organise? Did you go through a website or agency?

Nick.

Out of curiosity had a look at Lapland holidays. We wenr skiing at Levi in 2004. It cost us around £250 each party of 4. Thought prices like these had gone. But just went through initial stages of bookung with Inghams and there is a holiday for 4, in log cabin / self catering to Yllas for £199 each. Flight from Gatwick to Kittila. Early March. Very tempting.

Hi, Just come back from Levi in Lapland. We have been for the last 4 years now. catered chalet for 12 costs £580 per person. It is great walking round with snow everywhere and to see cars/buses etc using the roads as normal.

We had one extremely cold day of -25 then a windchill so felt like -40. Snowed on 4 out of 7 days with 8 inches one day. I do love Finland.

We went through Inghams - Manchester to Kittila then a 90min transfer to Pyha - stayed in a huge log cabin that slept 7 but only two of us so it was great  ( payed a bit more for this )  paid upfront for Snowmobile, Husky Safari, Reindeer  cross country ski, hire of thermal suites and boots. Self catering.  approx  £800 each - I cant ski, so plenty of walks in the snow and caught the local ski lift to the summit which then stopped working because of the wind. Stranded at the top in -19c and winds at 40mph brought down by snowmobile, best part of holiday !
