Not since 15th December. This winter has been revolting beyond belief due to the preponderance of south easterly winds giving excessive rainfall and extreme lack of temperature variation
It hasn't even reached 9C since then so the lack of mild is even more extreme than in winter 2009/10 when it reached 9.7C on 27th January. The highest since 15th December has been just 8.8C, the lowest maximum 3.1C and the lowest minimum -2.5C
44 of the last 61 days have had a maximum between 5.0C and 7.5C and the range of 11.3C in 8 weeks is just ridiculous. I looked at a lot of equatorial locations with the most boring equable climates on earth and could hardly find anywhere with a similarly low temperature variation over the same period. Just Kingston, Jamaica (11C) and Bridgetown, Barbados (8C). That just says it all. Even Singapore has seen a 13C range in the last 8 weeks.
The 27th February last year saw more temperature variation in just a few hours with the min rising from -3.0C to a max of 10.7C. I wish we could see a similar high pressure set-up now.
A season more monontonous, unvaried, unpleasant and uninteresting would be hard to find
