It's dull, it's mild, and not a lot is going on so I have a mind to pick the bones of some annoying things about the broadcast output. Please feel free to contribute.

1) Since when did hail appear as white blobs on the BBC weather ppn animations? In the 7.45am today with Carol K she zoomed in on the SW and the highest moors were receiving snow according to the chart. Oh no as Carol explains, this is not snow it's hail. So what was the white ppn on higher ground further North? Hail, snow or maybe a mixture. Who knows.

2) Why do the two day outlook ppn charts nearly always overdo the wintry elements when they are around? How often do we see the Atlantic and Ireland plastered in wintry showers when in reality it's too mild and furthermore hardly even mentioned? Automated output? Inaccuracies? Who knows.

I saw that forecast earlier and it looked like there was 'snow' for most of the UK. They don't usually distingush hail...not sure if this was new or an error with the map? It looked far too widespread even if it was hail.
