A disgusting start to the day with moderate blustery-type rain and a strong gusty southerly wind (for the millionth time this season). All that is having the effect of making the current temperature of 7.1 C feel unnecessarily cold than it needs to be.

At least things are expected to improve later on this morning, though.

No rain overnight, the rain band fragmented to the west as they often seem to do, yet 7 miles south Aviemore was wet!

It is so much drier than The Dales around here.

Some sunshine but there is a fair amount of convective cumulus knocking around. At least the 10.7 C felt pleasantly mild in the sunshine now that the wind has eased right back when I popped into town at noon time.
