It looks like the UK is not alone with the severe flooding situation of winter 2013/14, Slovenia has seen record levels and worst floods since 2000. http://www.24ur.com/novice/slovenija/padavine-le-se-poslabsale-stanje-na-planinskem-polju.html

The rain tomorrow which will get stuck over Wales will feed the Severn, so the situation may worsen.

Also two heavy rain events next week on Tuesday and thursday. So we are not out of the woods yet

Last of the flood warnings on the Severn/Wye have now been lifted

Heavy rain over the next 18 hours could give 50mm in parts of Gwynedd and Cumbria, or even more locally. Also heavy rain in Southern Uplands, other parts of west Wales, north Lancashire, etc. Thinking is that this will not affect the Severn too much but the EA think the Dee is at risk (see below). I think a low risk of flooding on these diagrams refers to the amount of disruption it will cause rather than there being a low risk of any flooding at all.

It may have gone off the news agenda, but very little relief yet down here and further rain this week will cause problems. At least they have come up with alternative solutions as groundwater levels will remain high for months
