Well predicted Michael! Aboyne had a min of -6.1 last night (from the synoptic observation at 0600 GMT- the hourly temperature was -5.7 at 0700 GMT so the climatological 09-09 GMT minimum might be a little lower). The temperature at 1300 GMT is 14.5 so there is already a diurnal range of 20.6 degC for the day, and probably a bit more.
There is a long way to go to beat the UK record which is 29.3 degC at Altnaharra in late December 1995. In this case cold air was swept away by increasing wind so it was a change of airmass with the temperature rising from -27.2 early in the night to +2.1 by 0900 GMT the next morning. The highest diurnal range due purely to solar radiation was 29.0 degC at Tummel Bridge in May 1978, from a min of -7.0C to a max of 22.0C that same afternoon. That particular spell was characterised by glorious clear blue skies and very low humidity.
