Ive heard of snow in early-mid june but never come across any strong evidence of snowfall in july (or August/September). The closest I can find is this event:

Now the 850hpa temps are remarkabely low for July, only slightly above 0C in parts of the UK. However a very big ask to get snow in 850s this high still. Nevertheless the snow reports occured during the early morning, a few hours after this chart. You would need extremely heavy precipatation to be able to get snow. Unfortunately it was probably soft hail then and the reports were in error, still do you think there is any possibility of snow in July-September given the perfect synoptics?

I can't find any reports of this one, but it seems 10th July 1965 might have even come a bit closer

If we had had a direct northerly during this month instead of glancing blows, who knows?

Here's a report from the Reverend Eric Robson of St Andrew's Vicarage West Kirby.
"At 10h GMT on Saturday, July 9th, during a heavy northwesterly squall there was a shower of snow here lasting nearly 5 minutes. The flakes were big white flakes such as associates with a winter's storm. The flakes eventually became mixed with rain terminating in a squall of rain. The same shower also passed over Liverpool a few minutes later and was freely reported in the Press."

This was from 1938

Reports of widespread snow on 25-26th September 1885 look quite plausible, with the -5C isotherm in northern scotland and the 0C isotherm well to the south of the UK

Snow fell in July in the 1880s. I am not sure if it was 1880s or 1860s - but its definitely happened.

I think rarely we might get the odd polar low wandering out of it's jurisdiction during July and could only imagine the snow end of things being very transient.

A nice report from Kev on this above.

I would imagine it's possible in the highlands of Scotland more often though and might not be reported, as it wouldn't affect the main population.

The short answer to this Question is No.

Philip Eden deals with the question very well in his 1996 book 'Weatherwise' and concludes that any reports of falling I snow in July have been due to soft hail.

Clearly the examples above would not have produced snow in July, indeed, uppers of 0c would not produce snow in January never mind in July given the intensive solar heating that occurs in July!

Snow has never fallen in the UK in July below 300meters, indeed the only time it has fallen in June was in 1975 and that was on the 3rd.

It would take a major cooling of the UK climate for the UK to see snow fall in July away from mountainous areas.

As old as I am I have seen snow as late as June in this area and as early as October. Never seen snow in July, August or September.
