Just come in from checking a calving cow and there's an exceptionally strong pig slurry smell in the east wind from Holland at the moment.
It''s not local as there are no pigs from that direction here - just moors then North Sea.

An aroma of slurry very strong yesterday at Shepton Mallet... the farmers have been busy the last couple of days. Even at home here in PSJ the aroma drifts from across the valley in the North or  Easterly breeze.






Some people walk in the rain.
Others just get wet.

There is a bit of a whiff in the air over here but I think it's more to do with the gentle south east wind wafting the scent of the harbour and fish market my way.

We don't get anything like that this far north. When the wind is from the east the only thing that stinks is the weather
