As has been already reported a 5th day of dreadful weather here. Like Aberdeen, Edinburgh has had 4 days of cold rain and fog the temperature hasn't succeeded 7 C!

Back to the dross today though. Min: 5.7C , max: 7.1C  Same temperatures, same disgusting grey stratocumulus and same foul easterly wind as the abomination of a winter just passed Only difference was no rain which was odd as it just seemed to dry up before getting here. Often happens from the west but never the east.

Dense fog thickening again tonight, drifting in from the east with a steady drizzle, as it has been for 5 days and nights now, I think this last 5 days has been the worst and most depressing weather of the winter/early Spring period here. We missed most of the storms and rain over winter. I haven't noticed the effect of the clocks going forward as its been dark by 7 !!


I'm really hoping that Fridays change to a SW here will pull the temperature up into double figures before I go totally mad! By then we will have had 7 days of gloomy misty or foggy conditions, surely too much for most people to bear!

Sympathies to our N E contingent...sounds truly awful...meanwhile down here on the south coast, another glorious day...virtually unbroken sunshine...blossom out on our cherry trees, blackbirds in full song...can"t get much beter than this....
