I have really itchy eyes today and am sneezing a lot. No idea if it's related. It's hazy here with high level cloud.

Had quite a lot on my car up here near Manchester and everyone in my office has been talking about it too. I washed my car on Saturday for the first time this year and it looked filthy by Monday!

Used the wipers to clean the windscreen a couple of times yesterday. Noticeable just how bright yellow this particular sand is

Certainly noticed the poor skies and visability. The fog in particular lingered across the north today, not sure if this was related. Not noticed when breathing any ill effects and I used to have asthma. Yesterday the cloud broke and it was useable weather in the garden but today it was poor again.

Interesting to see how low the US pollution is considering all the vehicles.

Must have been a light shower overnight because car covered in brown splodges this morning - second time this week. Very hazy over Bristol. Hills some 3 miles away are barely visible. Weather dry.

Now I've experienced more sand than snow falling from the sky this year

My car looked a real mess this morning...

Also, yesterday I thought I must have got soap in my eyes while showering, but they are still itchy and watering today, especially outdoors, so I guess it must be the pollution

Pollution seems worse today than yesterday - once again it's very hazy and cannot see the Pennines. Been here for about 40 years and never seen pollution as bad as the last week, you can even taste it as you go outdoors. Kind of smells like something burning.

And over here, the air quality and visibility seem to be vastly improved. Just a shame that it's now gone all cool, dull and overcast.   Probably where the Atlantic air is trying to push through.

The reason we have no "brown cloud" here is we are not close to deserts and soils that are extremely dry like in India or China that will make it even more dusty. I notice there have been more admissions to hospitals due to breathing problems than usual in the UK. For most of us this won't effect us too much but for people with health problems then it no doubt already has.

It's not just Southern Britain.  We've got it here too, though it's only really been noticable today.  The local car wash will be busy this weekend!
