Quite a spectacular, and rather violent storm was captured on camera here. I pity the poor souls that were caught out in it!

Great vid we had a cracking thunderstorm here early one morning last July that woke us up, was incredibly loud

I believe that storms like that are pretty common in NY during the summer; from what I read once the Empire State Building gets struck by lightning about 100 times a year.

I was staying in Brooklyn at that time, they had some spectacular early morning thunderstorms as well. Most days were in the high 90s or 100 degrees.
