Whilst quite a few areas have had storms etc in recent times, I haven't heard a single rumble of thunder this year so far.

Anyone else in the same boat?

Might as well join too, heard a few distant rumbles yesterday but they don't count, just can't seem to get anything overhead at all.

Yes along with JimC and ARTzeman in my little patch we have avoided the storms in this current spell. Did see some vivid lightning from my high vantage location going on over the West of the county a few nights ago just before dark but nought here.

I've had plenty of Thunderstorms this year - must have had at least 5 so far and in the middle of winter as well.

It always makes me chuckle how a thread designed for posters who have experienced no thunderstorms ends up getting populated by those that have.

I can join this club. I've spent the last week in the Benelux countries, France and Germany with storms all around and managed to miss the lot (despite ridiculously high levels of CAPE etc). Meanwhile in my absence my wife can confirm that Aberdeen had a thunderstorm.

In the words of Gavin, you couldn't make it up you just couldn't!

I had one small storm in April with several flashes of lightning, but nothing since, and we missed out again today by a whisker - we had a torrential shower with 15mm of rain, with no thunder, but that shower later developed into a thunderstorm just to the north - quite literally - a few suburbs of north Leeds got quite the pasting. York recently got a pretty great storm as well.

So yeah - all in all pretty unlucky. All the CAPE in the world cannot deliver a storm here.

So far I heard about 5 distant rumbles of thunder. Looked promising as the storm approached up from the south across the West Midlands but electrically has lost its oomph by the looks of it.

I'm still a qualifying member of this club but I'm hoping I'll be leaving today

After looking at what's heading this way or lack of, whichever way you want to look at it, I reckon I'm safely stuck in this club for the foreseeable, not one bleeding bang, can't quite believe it after all the warnings we've had these last few days.
