GFS, WRF and Euro4 had storms in the Channel approaching the S Coast from 10pm.
It is now 11.35pm and no sign of anything yet.

The longer it stays dry here the better, although I can't complain too much, at least it may happen at night so I won't have to have my time spoilt by rain (lye-in tomorrow you see)

Tropical storm just ending here in Gloucester ! A real firework display. Garden flooded. Not surprising with the white echoes on the radar. Yep - gotta be happy with this one. !

Some places sure to get hammered today whilst others will wonder what all the fuss is about !

p.s. We have done well with storms this year after a year or two of 'drought'

If it happened I missed it, The cloud looks menacing to the west but here it's not too bad and dry so I think Frome may have missed the action again, I may be wrong as I did sleep well.

Edit: Just had a few minutes of heavy rain but no thunder to be heard.

Noticed passenger jets heading I should imagine for Bristol passing overhead, they maybe having a storm over there, certainly looks black in that direction.

Looking like the forecast timings from last night were way off? supposedly most of the threat should have gone by 6am but looks like more to come. Derby day could be wet after all....

Woke to some good thunder, a few flashes and just a little rain - as usual it mostly bypassed Evesham .....

Apart from the large cluster of storms in W. Midlands we have multiple storms breaking out N. Wales, and rapidly developing storms in the E. Midlands with plenty of sferics. Meanwhile here it is clear blue sky, warm and calm (for now)...

Nothing here in Kent, although it's nearly 20C already, muggy, calm and the sky looks and feels ripe for storms.

The band of storms in East Anglia developed north of Kent, and also shows how unstable the early morning air already is.

The storms in the West Midlands look explosive!
