The England players are good at doing interviews and endorsements but have failed to deliver again on the pitch - the highest paid players in the World.

I hope that they are met with a crowd of angry supporters and cacophony of boos on their return at the airport.

I think this was one of the worst England sides to ever enter a tournament finals. I knew it was poor, but having watched all the games so far I genuinely think it was THAT poor. Certainly the defence is one of the worst English defences of all time.

We have players with huge potential like Sturridge, Llalana, Sterling, Barclay and Ox, but the Premier League will stamp that potential out of them in the coming years.

Listen to this below. He's absolutely spot on:

Edit: and Costa Rica are a better team than England. Italy didn't perform against us and not against them. England make average teams look good.

Host on ESPN just dropped a beauty to the tune of (as close as I can quote): “What’s more remarkable, if you look at Costa Rica, they only have two players who play for top clubs, Diaz in Germany and Navas in Spain, all the rest play in leagues you would not consider that great.”

Says it all for the Premier League.

Chris Waddle blames Premier League for England's exit. I seem to recall him making the exact same comments after England went out of South Africa 2010. Maybe he has a point?

Oh, we also have players who look poor in the national team, and poor in the Premier League

Anyway, if Hodgson is staying, the Woy Wevolution needs to be completed. Johnson, Gerrard, Lampard (even though he didn't play) need putting out to pasture to join Cole, Terry, etc.

We need to find a system & set-up that WORKS FOR US with the players we have.

The trouble is, whilst we don't seem short of attacking talent, where are the defenders coming through? Jones & Smalling, the great hopes of a few years ago, have gone backwards big time. We have Walker at RB, but who else there? Flanagan is an 'honest pro' who's accomplished in defence but limited in attack. Shaw looks the real deal, but will Scum-U ruin him like they have Jones & Smalling? Stones at Everton has potential, and Martinez plays him regularly in a team playing good football.

Maybe for the Euros Waddle should be the only media outlet leading up to and during the tournament. Maybe that'll keep the false optimism in check.

And I don't recall there being anything like the same hype over England's chances before that tournament started like there has been before the last three or four World Cups.

Other than narrowly missing out on the Euro '96 final, England have done virtually nothing since 1990.

If you're talking about the mythical extra league? Stupidest idea for anything I've ever heard inside or outside of sport. Virtually unanimously dismissed by the leagues, clubs, chairmen, supporters. Won't happen, neither should it. Until the Premier League adopts a policy of at least 50% English talent per starting lineup it won't change. So it won't change.
