Does anyone remember this event and have charts for it

Don't know the exact date but all I remember is the day before was warm and hazy and the sky had a coppery hue

I remember listening to bbc Hereford and Worcester where resident forecaster Paul Damari confirmed this fact about the coppery sky saying that thunderstorms are on their way

That night about 1am there were frequent flashes and the thunder was not the usual rumbles - but a massive explosion - very unusual

I am sure fellow members in the midlands in particular would remember this event

Just had a look at my records for Sep 1992, and although we didn't get any storms, there was a lot of rain here between the 21st and 25th of September, in fact 54mm in this period.   More importantly, I'd noted down that on the 22nd alone, "reportedly 100mm of rain fell near Lincoln".

interesting to note that Trevor Harleys excellent website does mention that this month was memorable for a lot of severe thunderstorms around - so I am surprised no one has really picked this up
