Belgium look a cut above England. They actually look like a good young team.

Perhaps Belgium are a bit like England used to be - expectations, potential but probably won't deliver on the big stage. They will probably go out on penalties at some stage.
Could be one to watch at Euro 2016 if Belgium improve further, they certainly have the players to do well in that one.

Another reflection of just how poor and down the pecking order England are. This USA side would beat us all day every day. Far superior in all aspects of the team game. Even worse is it won't change now. It will only get worse. As Hansen has just said - there aren't any youths even coming through the system that have that spark where you think this is different class.

Great ball in from king grease to be fair. They are still odds on to go out.

USA will have to close out games better than that though, they will  be disapointed as it was the last kick of the game just about!

However I think a question mark still remains on what will happen when a really good side goes after them. I suspect they might be too fragile at the back.

Anyway another good entertaining game.

Can't be bothered getting up at 2am for England v Costa Rica this Wednesday! Must be a 5pm kick off in the UK? Will be a strange feeling because usually the pubs would be packed and people would be rushing home from work or watching at work.

I suspect the majority in England won't give a *** either.

I'm still trying to figure out how Germany's group goes. Assuming a narrow US loss and a narrow loss for Ghana against Portugal that would be enough to get the US through.

Still, predicting results in this group has proven a waste of time so far.

So, how come, when they play together for their national team, do they look much better than you would expect from seeing them at clubs?

I'd be happy to get the tactics wrong for £1 million and save the FA £2.5 million.

Anyway, best case scenario would be for the US to beat Germany and Ghana to thrash Portugal. I'd laugh my head off if that happened.

But also tournament football can be decided by fractions if England had not made a couple of defensive errors had a bit of luck at the other end we could easily still be in the World Cup. Both games were close. The stats in the Uruguay game showed we had more possession more shots on and off target. I think we played better this time around than 4 years ago.
I think we are heading in the right direction although its painfully slow.
