Can't find the old one 😎

Countryfile forecast: Risk of sharp showers East/South tomorrow, then in line with Wimbledon starting, warm dry weather breaking down from Tuesday onwards. Wed/Thur look very wet with an unseasonable brisk wind.

Did jo wheeler on sky really just advise not to travel in the east of the uk today 'unless you have to' ??? Its going to rain a bit jo - maybe she meant to say ' dont have a barbecue in the east of england today unless you have to'!

Very strange and tbh, the whole tone of her forecast was very depressing for a day which will be quite useable for much of the country.

"With temperatures set to rise to an expected high of 32F – especially in the South East – many vulnerable people could be at serious risk"

Yes a serious risk of freezing to death at that temperature if they don't turn their heating on!

Nice update from the Met:

UK Outlook for Sunday 27 Jul 2014 to Tuesday 5 Aug 2014:

Largely fine and dry weather is expected across southern parts of the UK initially, although isolated showers could affect the southeast, while in the north a band of showery rain may edge southwards through Sunday. It will remain warm or very warm for many, and perhaps locally hot in places, although sea breezes should keep some coastal parts a little fresher. During next week, lengthy periods of fine, dry and warm weather are likely. Occasional rain and brisk winds may affect northern parts with temperatures here returning closer to average. The last part of this period should be similar, although there are indications that the more unsettled weather in the north may extend further south at times.

Last night's BBC N24  presented two scenarios (hedging their bets?) rather than just the headline one above

1. Most likely - Azores high takes over, fresher westerly weather with rain in the north and west, mainly dry in the south

2. Less likely - Scandi high drifts into N Sea, hot and sunny everywhere until later thundery breakdown in south

I must say that even by the past couple of year's standards the BBC's effort of a forecast today was poor.

This morning they forecast a high of 16°C for here in a newly updated forecast when the current temperature was then 20°C. It ended up maxing out at 23°C officially (and a degree or two more locally).

The forecast was wrong by four degrees even at the time of broadcast yet emails go unanswered. Disappointing. I could write again but I guess there's not much point?

There's going to be a max of 16°C in Aberdeen tomorrow too based on the latest BBC forecast. [sn_clown]

I also noticed the hopeless BBC temp forecast for NE Scotland. Frustrating!

News on the Brighton storm this morning. I particularly like the idea of a 'zombie apocalypse'

Large hail and 47mm of rain feature in the Mail report, with lots of good pics. Also starring Ruislip in a minor role.
