Big spots of rain trying to come down now but doesn't look like lasting to long as they seem to be popcorn type showers.

Just over 3mms from that.

My garden has been watered and saves me a job.

Can see a nice big cumulonimbus complete with an anvil top hanging over the French coast when viewed from my front garden, and it is electrically active so I would able to see lightning flickering away in that if it is night time.

A rumble from a cg near to Sandbach around 5pm BST then several deep, distant rumbles between 6 and 7pm BST from a cluster of activity just to the NE of Middlewich. Quite an active area of activity earlier on from cells moving slowly NE close to the Nantwich area .. these just out of earshot!

Some very dark clouds heading this way from the South and it's dropped a few degrees colder.  No rain as yet.

Showers already getting going here this morning, sferics showing in Guisborough area. Could be a lively day in eastern parts of Scotland and England.

Central belt of the IOW has been stuck under a home grown convayor belt of downpours for about 90 minutes now. I can see them from my location in southsea and netweather radar confirms it, no thunder as of yet though.
The showers are occasionally spilling out and clipping us in southsea - literally just clipping the portsmouth coastline.

Given the rain rates and duration I would assume some areas on the IOW have already seen over an inch fall in the past 90 minutes.

Supposed lightning in the storm 10 miles to my south and the one drifting in from my northeast - absolutely no audio from that "supposed" storm 10 miles across the water from me! I reckon the detector must be faulty.
