Hi all it the Fantasticmassive Forks and Crawler CG Thunderstorm Lightning to my NE and the East- Some Large Raindrops still around and Overcast more so now plus very warm humid and Breezy here in E London.

It certainly is a dark awesome TSTSTM.

😀😎💦. It looks like moving West to some extent more so now and has been since an hour now.
Climate is warming up, Scotland and N Ireland and North England still often gets some Winter frost, ice and snow, November to March, but the SE and South UK including S Central England and Wales, together with the West and North through the year, they sometimes get more rain than London and S SE England, where some longer dry fine spells without much heavy rain is seen every year.

The North Atlantic Sea often gets some much Colder Wintry conditions from November to March Months, and Mild SW and South winds tend to be more frequent over the East and SE of North Atlantic Sea, as the Azores High tends to stay in charge.

With this warmth and heat, the Central and South UK has become mostly free of snow and frost.

Well, that was nice, will round 2 be as spectacular?

I had to head inside as the rain was so incredibly heavy, so many forms of forked lightning: vertical; horizontal; several that radiated out like a spider's web and all the time punctuated by sheet lightning.

The MCS due for the central swathe of the UK is still brewing in the region around La Rochelle (central-western France) and is starting to show the due north movement we've been looking for, thanks to the trough SW of the UK tightening up a little, which in turn is down to the jet streak running south to north from Spain, through France and on to the UK.

As the atmosphere continues to destabilise, that convective system will have a lot to feed off starting at the mid-levels... an elevated system therefore, but a very tall one, hence the excessive precipitation and large hail risk.

Well, that was a little treat for me. The gust front arrived here at about 8 pm and it did look quite scary and nasty and yet beautiful at the same time - and once that passed over where it got very blustery for a time, I was then treated to an hour or so of a high-based lightning display which even included some spider-type crawlers! Surprisngly there wasn't that much rain so it made it a joy to watch and take photos of.

Nice to see rapid development occuring to the west of that MCS.

It feels very, very clammy out there and indoors - you can just feel the moisture waiting to take part in the night's events

Lots of shower activity has erupted across Central Southern parts recently. Doesn't appear to have any electrical activity though.

Large raindrops falling here at the moment and I can see frequent lightning flashes to the SSW of here, no electrical activity showing on meteox radar but something's kicking off not far away.

Just had a very brief shower...

Look at the size of the rain drop splats, that's a 2p coin next to them.
