In the 24 hours to 21z yesterday Westonbirt in Gloucestershire saw 78.8mm of rain
Reports of hail the size of tennis balls in the storm cells on the French side of the Channel yesterday evening

Some really dark clouds towering over Norwich, thunder and lightning has quietened down and rain finally picking up. It'had been remarkably quiet here when considering how threatening the skies looked.

Saw 1 lightning strike to WNW at approx 15.35 hrs. Didn't hear thunder; I think it must have been 15-20 miles away.
Bloody hell! Flash flooding in Teynham (nr Sittingbourne, Kent) from this afternoon's storm:
A rumble of thunder here but nothing too close on radar returns.
Sittingbourne:

I can hear the odd rumble in the distance. The sky is dark to my west from that line of storms that tracked down the A1, and now a couple of cells have fired up to my east. A little oasis of nothing here as usual, but I can smell rain on the breeze from the outflow.
Can hear thunder coming from a new storm to the north of me, seems to be edging this way.
And just now, a flash of lightning and loud rumble.
We have thunder here in Hatfield.
The near-stationary storms to the east are visible as ominous skies from Reading, but they're not stopping the sun from shining down and maintaining a very warm feel to things with an air temperature sitting nicely in the mid-20's.
On this occasion, I'm okay with no storms, as I'm putting in a days work after being too distracted from Thursday evening up to yesterday evening.
UPDATE. Sheet lightning observed here in Hatfield..
