In some ways I know what you mean though, towards the end of last week when we was up towards 30*c and very humid alot of people wasn't out and about for the simple reason being it was to hot to sit and enjoy it so I can see where your coming from.

Obviously if a beach is a walk away it's nice. We just have the Thames Estuary

Absolutely love hot weather. The hotter and more humid and uncomfortable the better. I also enjoy seeing people whinge about it just as much.

As for me, the only time I want to feel hot is in winter time, when I can turn the heat off.

At least with hot weather in summer people are out enjoying themselves and giving the world around you a feeling of well being and happiness

Ok I am an old bugger, and perhaps not as fit as I might be, but if humidity levels were less, say 50 to 60% as opposed to 90% plus, which they have been, I dare say that I would find the conditions more acceptable.

The mean temperature for my station stands at 19.42°c at present, way aboue the CET values. I am not saying that the figures are 100% accurate, but certainly they are within the odd digit or two compared with other stations around me, and indeed those of Gravesend, a Met Office station.

Conversely, I spend huge amounts of my time outside during the winter months, and am quite happy to do so, its the time of year I feel most comfortable. I doubt we will ever see eye to eye on this Matty, we all have different comfort levels, and maybe we are at opposite ends of the spectrum. Enjoy it while you can, my time will be here in a month or two.

Reading back through the posts in this thread the general consensus seems to trend towards my view, particularly about humidity, but of course the conditions locally thoughout the UK are quite different to those in the SE. There are some who express delight in the hot weather, but to them, "hot weather" is 22 or 23°c, a world of difference.

On TWO I would have to say more people enjoy this weather than they do our Winters , I don't include Snow in that .

Personally I prefer 21c -25c and that is it , this week I have just about accepted the weather ( no choice) but better because we have been on holiday.

In saying that tomorrow we will be home, big pool out , shade to sit in and BBQ on which will be fine .

I love the hot weather too. Although our bedroom upstairs holds the heat from the sun a bit too well for my liking. Not easy to sleep at 27°C or so.

I do admit though when it gets to the mid30s and above it is too hot to be doing much that doesn't involve cold drink and swimming pools etc.

As for too hot, I really don't think in 20 years I have really encountered anything that would meet that description here. I have been inland a few miles today and it was about 27°C....lovely.

Hot weather is great, the main advantage is it means you can sit out in the evenings without feeling cold.

It always cools down rapidly after dark here so sleeping is ok, just keep the windows open. Lows have been 14c this past week so it gets lovely and cool late in the night. If I lived somewhere where lows were regularly 18-20c may not be quite as happy with the heat.

I love it hot & humid. 😜

High 20's low 30's is just perfect.

Generally speaking warm nights relative to the bulk of the nation are the norm during summer down here. I don't like using one figure for an average, as this being the UK no 2 days are ever the same, I prefer using an average range 😉, so 14-16C is the normal range...

However I've grown used to the 18-20C range of late - 18C is okay.

Normally when it gets hot down here there will still be a breeze blowing, this can actually mask the actual temperature and make it feel cooler even though it isn't...
