Who loves the hot summer weather ?

Who hates the hot summer weather ?

Reasons for both

For me it is nice but nights can be a nightmare if you want to sleep

Can't go out in the day because it is too hot
Can't sleep at night because it is too hot
Any slight physical activity makes you sweat and need a cold shower

And there is nothing you can do at 28c that you can't do with as much or more pleasure at 22c

I believe I have a fundamental human right to be able to work and play outside and sleep at night and therefore temperatures above 22c by day and 10c by night should be made illegal under a UN Charter and we should recieve compensation if governments break this charter and permit silly temperatures to persist for a period of more than 24 hours.

Did I say I don't like hot weather?

Absolutely love hot weather. The hotter and more humid and uncomfortable the better. I also enjoy seeing people whinge about it just as much.

I like hot weather because I can go around in my bare feet.

Love the summer.. Wearing less and only light clothing. Enjoying the sunshine.

Do like not the chore of watering pots on the patio.

Do not like long nights of  not being completely dark skies for stargazing.

Some people walk in the rain.
Others just get wet.

When it get's above 26*c and humid with it and when the nights don't cool down.

I love hearing the people say they love hot weather when they live in places that rarerly get above 25*c if there very lucky  bring them this way for a summer when life carries on and see how they get on. In reality most of us still have to continue to work and don't have a pool or sea to dip our feet into.

I love the hot weather but fear that we have seen the last of it for some time now. Hope I am proven wrong!

As for me, the only time I want to feel hot is in winter time, when I can turn the heat off.

I can take it or leave it. When it's like this though, warm and comfortable with lots of sun, it's perfect.

I'm starting to not mind hot weather quite so much these days now that I no longer work under glass but it's only lately that these muggy nights are starting to make me cranky.
Living right next to the coast does have its good points and drawbacks. For a start, the cool seas seems to prevent it from getting too hot IMBY (although the 19th July '06 was an exception when it got up to 36 C here at Folkestone and thus was the hottest place out of the whole of the UK on that day). But, on the other hand, every time it does get properly warm and humid, like it has done so recently, it causes everyone around here to get all loud and silly with road rage and fighting over parking spaces - it's even worse in the weekend and how a road next to me has recently been turned into a two way system. Caaaaaaaaaaaaaalm down everyone! Oh, and don't get me started on them lots next door wanting to have good weed toking sessions and BBQs everytime the sun does come out and during the night (I have pointed out to them how the stench stinks the inside of my house if I leave windows open but they don't seem to get it).

I loathe hot weather because people like SEMerc go around in bare feet.

On the other hand my tomatoes are loving it, so I can't complain.

The straightforward and cost-free way of cooling down at nights is to get rid of any loft insulation. That way the summer heat does what it's supposed to - rise into the attic and dry out any dampness up there from the winter. I can't understand why people install this stuff and turn their bedroom into a literal oven. Unless you have a full range of soffit vents and breathable roofing felt, it doesn't even keep you warmer in winter, as the attic just gets damp and it's like trying to keep warm in wet clothes.

Removing it can save you £££s too from not having to replace the roofing timbers when they eventually rot from the dampness which loft insulation promotes during winter, particularly if there is inadequate ventilation or old-fashioned bitumen roofing felt.

I love hot sunny humid weather (especially if thunderstorms are a result)

I love sub-zero weather (especially if snow is a result)
