It's really good this year, the mainly fine weather helps.
If it rains every other day the older individual flowers start to go brown sooner, diminishing the impact.
A couple more weeks then it's over.

Great picture I was only thinking about this the other day as from my locality I have noticed the purple "hue" showing on Harridge Pike (395m asl) to my east which I guess would be the heather.
