Bizarre set up here : blazing scorching sun to our west, thunder directly overhead and can see storm edge creeping our way
Just started to rain
Feels like a real continental storm
Slowly slowly creeping with incredible thunder!

This is a pretty good storm here.Plenty of CG and we still have heavy rain here.Should have a impressive rainfall amount when it is finshed.

Past rainfall radar worth a look to see the explosive development from a pinpoint at 1500 (London) or 1600 (Ipswich) to a major storm cell inside an hour.

'Ullo, what's this? A small but lively cell has just sprouted up over the Strait of Dover and can see lightning flashing away to my south.

It's being quite an impressive number with fast and frequent strobe lightning bolts stabbing away inside the cell at the rate of one a second, that's how fast it is being and all safely out of harms away over the sea. But I have to head down to the beach to get a better view of it as trees and buildings are in the way of it.

Seems a bit weird reading all about the thunderstorms further south. Stuck in the misty and murky wonderland here until the cold front goes through.

Had a great view of the storm that hit the Thames Estuary area earlier this evening.

Took this shot from about 40 miles away.
