True, but to date the Icelandic eruption has been singularly unspectacular.

the GPS station on the caldera has stopped working due to snow cover, so we dont know what is happening about subsidence

I think that is highly unlikely!!!!!!!

If it were true, that volume would be the same as burying the UK to a depth of many kilometres?.
