After showery rain earlier on this morning gave me 5.4 mm of rain, the slate grey sky is slowly giving away to blue coming in from the west.

Update at 10.15 am: Stunning blue sunny skies now, with a procession of anvil top cumulonimbus marching along the Channel.

A big improvement here: Sunny intervals, 10.7C, mainly light WSW breeze, pressure has risen to 995mb 

Sun still out between broken cloud. 22.9c. Inside.. Out  there   it is 13.1c.   In the shade 11.7c. 

Another chilly day for first week of October, with max of 9.7C.
It has been rather dull and windy since mid-morning but stayed dry.

Rain band just cleared through, so far the max temp has been a chilly 8.3C, way lower than the BBC forecast of 13C!
Currently just 7.5C
