While it is currently raining, the heavy core of a shower cell is just skimming by to my south (over the Strait of Dover), thus missing my location by millimetres and I can see brightness in blue sky to my west.
  But what I am pleasantly surprised is how the wind has eased down when I was expecting it to be strong to gale force but it is expected to ramp up again later anyways.
