I had one small storm in April with several flashes of lightning, but nothing since, and we missed out again today by a whisker - we had a torrential shower with 15mm of rain, with no thunder, but that shower later developed into a thunderstorm just to the north - quite literally - a few suburbs of north Leeds got quite the pasting. York recently got a pretty great storm as well.

So yeah - all in all pretty unlucky. All the CAPE in the world cannot deliver a storm here.

Great thunder this morning, but as usual the main action was a few miles away.

If you're talking only of close storms thats a different question altogether!

I dont hear thunder from one year to the next but I cant say I am bothered, its not like snow that transforms the landscape and the flash flooding that comes with thunderstorms are a pain in the neck.

Anyway, most British storms are boring, if you want to see real thunderstorms go to Corfu in October and they will blow your socks off!

Just missed the storm that hit St Helens, Wigan, Warrington, Bolton, two weeks ago.

A good part of Greater Manchester has largely missed out on anything thundery this year so far.

Not had any thunder here this year but unlike the permacast it doesn't really bother me since we rarely get any thunderstorms and never have done - just the odd rumble or two.

Did experience torrential thundery downpours at Perth Races earlier this month and was not amused. Just about the last thing I wanted spoiling the day.

The only decent storm here in recent years was in August 2010 when I was on holiday in a thundery part of France and got nothing. I think before that it was summer 2004.

I'm still in. Although there was a brief thunderstorm in Exeter, I completely missed it.

I heard one rumble of thunder last month but to all intents and purposes, I'm still in.  Nearly 10 years to the day since the epic all nighter which took place here in the early hours of 19 August 2004.

Only had one distant rumble of thunder here all summer, on Thursday afternoon this week from a heavy shower/storm that was centred well to my east. Not that I'm a fan of thunder mind you!

Never known such a thundery month as this, four days so far this month which is what we would normally get in 3 years as thunder is rare here.

As a frequent visitor yo Corfu UK ones always seem tame anyway.

Reading recent thunder reports just emphasises yet another poor year for thunder around here.

First loud rumble of thunder wasn't until July and been nothing since early August.

I would of joined the club having had not a sausage from 2008 till Sunday. Since then we've had storms almost every day. Tell a lie we had that thunderstorm i think jan 2010 when the cold spell came to an end. As the front came over it snowed heavily then hailed then rained with claps of thunder throughout. Brilliant event.
