I'm off to Corfu with my mum and sisters on Friday morning and will miss the start of October and the new prediction game.   Will October's categories be the same and can I submit mine early?

Here's what I'm thinking for the categories next month. Feel free to put in predictions anytime before you go - I was going to post the new thread on Friday anyway so you won't be too far ahead of the pack

- The latest 20.0*C              - The first -2.5*C?

- The longest run of days with a minimum temperature of 0*C or below somewhere in the UK?

- The highest UK temperature?              - The lowest UK temperature?

- The rainfall as a percentage of the long term average?              - The sunshine as a percentage of the LTA?

Hope you have a smashing good time in Corfu Caz

I'm sure I'll enjoy Corfu with the girls and I won't mind coming home because I'm only back for five days, then I'm off to Rhodes with hubby for another week.

Here's where things stand before the final couple of categories come through.

These results assume that the coming 38 hours are close to what the models are predicting - no sudden, unexpected soaring of temperatures towards the mid-20's, or epic deluges!

The lowest UK temperature is less certain - we have light winds around, but on the other hand, there's a fair bit of cloud expected too. For example last night didn't get below 3.7*C at the lowest by the looks of things.

So... there's currently a tie for 1st place, then a jump of 4 points for 3rd place - which could easily be overcome in the space of two categories, so really it's still all to play for.

It's not been the most exciting of months to be honest - at least it's been very usable and often pleasant outdoors cool

Oo-er!  What happened to me in September?  There's certainly some different scenery down at the bottom of the table!

After a considerable delay due to my usual source not updating, the final results are at last on display (see my previous post where it auto-updated).

September behaved well for me this year, though it wasn't quite as warm as I was hoping for in the other competition

Not far behind is Gooner, who has put in another good performance this month - very well done to him - and is giving Rob and Caz a run for their money in the annual league stats, which I'll post in a short while wink

Schmee has done well this month, achieving the third podium place

October's shaping up very differently so far... I wonder if the table might be turned on it's head? foot-in-mouth

The Scores so Far This Year

Alright here we are! The top 5, my star participants, all have full attendance records so far this year

Domma missed out February, for which a score has been set which is the average for all the other months, to give an estimate of overall performance, which as it happens is very similar to those of Caz and Gooner!

ozone_aurora and Vince both missed out two months, for which the same methodology has been used to give estimates of what their total score would be. It appears Vince is challenging ARTzeman for the honour of supporting the table - there are battles within battles in this game smile

Rob is outpacing Caz as things currently stand, with a 19 point lead. Arguably Caz has a monumental challenge to face - but hey, so did Poland today wink

Thanks SC. I will take that.  In my head I thought I was having a bad year, but actually not so bad. Caz may challenge my position yet with fully recharged batteries from all those sun holidays!  Looks like 2014 is almost yours.

Yes Rob, I'm back with re-charged batteries but I can't guarantee all this sunshine hasn't gone to my head!   Anyway, we're now coming into the time of year when you stand up well - cold, frost and snow are your thing!  But, I'm hot on your heels so beware of meltdowns!

SC, you are doing brilliantly as always, both with your predictions and with the competition threads.  Thank you!
