a real classic T-storm just passed through Liverpool. With spectacular Mamatous clouds at the back. Within 10 mins it had blown throuh with crystal blue sky behind and a massive anvil rear to it.

great stuff

Sad to hear of the lady in london.

Funny you shouldsay that - as I noticed about 20 mins ago how the clouds were moving more or less  straight down the mersey now, as opposed to before when they were sort of coming towards me, a shift of about 10-20 degrees or so.  Fromy part of the mersey that usually means a North westerly.

clouding over again- another shower?

Dry and sunny here, we had a sudden gust of 53mph about 1pm but it seems to be diminishing gradually since then.

Short lived torrential squally showers with very strong gusts and blue sky in between.

The winds have been nothing remarkable, and have generally come in spells. Fairly calm at present.

Real squally here right now, I've not recorded anything dramatic wind wise but one gust must have been pretty nasty as my plastic greenhouse uprooted and landed 20ft from where it was planted plus garden furniture, pots, trays, tools and even a hefty shovel are strewn all over the place, I was at work at the time so missed whatever hit at that time.

Extremely gusty winds here. A mature oak tree across the road has fallen this afternoon, completely blocking the road. It`s a cul-de-sac so people living further down the road can`t get their cars in or out.

Had 1 shower this afternoon with gusty winds, but now it is sunny. Now turning quite cold. Most of the showers passed south of us.

And, just as it's time to leave work for the day, it starts lashing it down. Sideways

Another cracking squall just after 4pm  I'm just about to go down the garden and retrieve the garden furniture from where it ran to hide under the shrubbery

The squalls have/are being quite notable here - sideways hail at times and sudden gusts that have been up into the low to mid 50's mph.

Just had a beefy squally shower rattle through here, even gave off a couple of flashes in the process. Although it does look like Dover had copped it more than here at Folkestone.

A lot of squally showers passed through here today, in between the very brief brighter interludes. A few small trees down on the roads but nothing else to write home about.

We had a few bursts of heavy rain and gusts. There were a few gales mostly evening rush hour. Most of the activities were north of our location.

It's dead but it won't lie down! Ex-Gonzalo may have rushed past Britain and given us an October gale, but it seems to be achieving more as it interacts with the Mediterranean.

From www.weather.com:

"In another saga involving the life of a tropical cyclone, parts of former hurricane Gonzalo are still around in some vague sense. What is over southern Europe is a relative of the old Gonzalo. Though other weather systems have since moved in and taken over its structure, the link to Gonzalo has helped bring heavy rains (>7" in some Greek Islands), water spouts, thunderstorms, wind gusts over 40 mph, and some mountain snows to southern Europe."
