A cloudy and damp start today with some light rain. Some of the cooler air to the North has just about managed to filter in here with 9.5C here currently in a light NE breeze.

Overcast and has been since 9am despite the expectation of clear skies.

The rain appears to have stopped now (picked up 1.2 mm and yet it's soaking wet) but it is still very dull and overcast. Also we are still on the warm side of this front what with temperatures holding steady at 15.5 C and 99% humidity under dead calm winds.

Should have had an air frost last night and undoubtedly would have 20 years ago with clear skies all night and single figure temperatures most of yesterday. However the now ever present breeze kept it stuck on 3-4C all night with only a brief dip to 1.8C so yet another frost-free October

Tonight is even worse as despite clear skies and very light wind the temperature is not only rising but soaring. Up from 4.5C to 6.1C in half-an hour. Just a complete and utter joke What does it take to produce anything remotely interesting these days?
