Quite hairy with rain and gale-force squally wind. Certainly getting to feel the effect of this southerly wind (strong enough to tip wheelie bins over - but then again, they have been freshly emptied out).

12.9 C with 94% humidity.

EDIT: Oh, where did this come from? The sun has just popped out - but it's even more windier than ever and it does appear that squally rain isn't too far away from here.

Glad I haven't got to do that motorbike commute to Farthing Common any more.   But, yes, it does look heavy-set to my west.

EDIT at 8.45 pm: The squally rain has arrived here but oddily the wind had dropped right down. It also looks like a well defined squall-line feature is forming on the spot while over us.

about 18mm here, it has been very intense showers e.g. here is a carpark scene from Malton an hour ago.
It is inclined to back up if it rains heavy but could be leaves over the drain too.
