4.2 mm on Monday, 12.0 mm yesterday and 21.0 mm today.

That's enough to push my total up to 97.9 mm, compared to a long term average of 29.3 mm for 12 days of November.

So yeah - more than three times the usual rainfall to date this month (334.4% to be precise).

As usual, my readings are a few mm above those of nearby official Met Office stations. I'm aware that my measurements aren't been taken quite as far away from nearby vegetation as would be required to meet the official standard, so that might explain the difference.

Edit: just realised that my annual rainfall total has just passed the 1000 mm mark.

In fact, at 1007.1 mm, it's precisely 20 mm short of my highest ever annual total, set in 2008. That's in the usual records going back to 2003. This year is odds-on to beat that value before November is out!

9.8 mm today coupled with 0.7 mm yesterday take the total up to 108.4 mm for the month to date, 317.3% of the LTA for 14 days of November.

At this rate this month could be giving January '14 a run for its money - my second wettest month with 233.5 mm. Just under 10 mm further and the top spot us under threat - the 243 mm of November 2009.

Current signs are that the second half of the month wont maintain the same pace, though the middle part of next week could turn out quite soggy if we're unlucky with the positioning of the maritime/continental air boundary.

It's another damp morning outside, and I'm pretty certain that it has rained each and every day in November so far in this location, making it 15 consecutive days.

While I'm sure that's not too rare, it got me thinking: I wonder whether there are regional records for the longest runs of days with precipitation recorded?

118.2 mm to date this month, 285% of the LTA for 17 days of November.

Looks like that anomaly should be falling through the rest of this week... but it can never reach near average. Not even close - the current value is 45 mm above the LTA for the whole month. Even if there wasn't a drop more rain, the final anomaly would be just over 160%.

Few past 17-day periods in my records can compete with this rate of accumulation, and three of the months featuring such extremes occurred last winter... 2014 is taking wet to a whole new level.

Literally.

The annual total has now reached 1027.4 mm, beating my previous record (period 2003-2013) of 1027.1 mm set in 2008, and with a whole 44 days left to run

Hello all.

The figure here for November so far is 236mm which is already 115% the long term average. Things have dried up a little of late however the rain looks it may return with vengeance later this week and next looking at the models.

Another vile SE'ly month. Passed the whole month average today and now on 82mm. 57.6mm of that in the past 10 days which have produced a total of 0.8 hours sun

As if that wasn't bad enough I see there is a warning out for more rain at the weekend

Just horrific and I'm so glad to be spending the rest of the month out of the country.
