The Pentlands south of Edinburgh are nice and white this morning. There's even a dusting on the Braids 150-200m. At my level just frozen slush on windscreens. So 2 days snow falling so far.

Looks like snow accumulated higher than the Met Office suggested - this camera is almost 400m asl on the M62 summit anything below this is wet rather than white.

Slight covering of hail and snow and very icy with slush on side roads. There was loud thunder every few hours overnight. Proper snow line seems to be around 350-400m around here.

We had a winter-wonderland scene this morning around 9am - all surfaces white.

Unfortunately it was a covering of hail. But it still looked nice.

(incidentally, in Dec 2009, we had a serious of hail events, which froze and gave a great base for subsequent snowfall.

They walk up (Mostly) hellvelyn on a daily basis, with a few other mountains from time to time.  They take a picture and comment on the conditions at the top.

Ive found this info extremely useful in the past

My drive to work tomorrow morning at 8am, will take me past the 2113.8ft Bench Mark on the A939. New BF Goodrich AT's fitted this morning. Home via the Cabrach as I'm sure the Lecht snow gates will be shut by 4pm

I had a maximum temperature of 5c today and we have had no snow (icy rain), snow falling line was about 1,000 feet and the uppers are the same so i'm not sure why you would have so much snow when you live at only 200m.  The uppers aren't really conductive for widespread snow.Do you live in a microclimate??

We are 900ft / 274m  here, snow has been falling all over Speyside to levels of 700ft over the past week, 10-12 inches of level snow was recorded here in Carrbridge, Kincraig, Kingussie & Newtonmore on Friday.

We are  further north than you and a long way from the warm sea to the west where the showers are coming from.

Todays high 1c, dew point -2c all day so no thaw at all, that warm sea all around you is your problem i am afraid.

Parts of the Cairngorms region is sub-Arctic in terms of climate and it is also in a larger land mass and further north than for example the Sperrins. Cold can "pool" there more readily.

I suspect a few more Scottish parts (especially in the north) may see some further overnight snow associated with a disturbance/trough. Not sure if we will get anything here though.

It is another chilly day here but continuing with the generally dry theme. Having said that I spotted a number of snowflakes stuck to the frost on my car on Saturday morning so I presume it snowed very briefly on
Friday night.

We had heavy snow showers wed/thur last week then a band of heavy snow came south Friday taking totals to 11 inches.

I do not understand why you cannot understand why, snow was falling to sea level on Friday as the uppers were very low.

This is the snowiest area of the UK.

Today the air is very marginal and only sustains wet snow at above 300m so I was surprised that you have lying snow at only 200m.
