Must have been some snow overnight because the ground was white in places and it certainly wasn't frost because as usual in this excruciating spell the temperature never got anywhere near freezing point 
Today was just as awful as the rest of the month with the vile nagging bitter wind never letting up. Coldest day so far at only 3.4C but barely any lower now despite clear skies again all evening. 1.9C now. This is a sick joke. At least with easterly gloom you only get the ridiculously low diurnal ranges and not this foul unpleasant wind as well
