wintry icy mix here just now after last evenings snow burst, what happened to the primary forcast of gales for yesterday as low dropped down ? cool +3c

There were a few spits of rain earlier this afternoon. The wait for a snowflake continues!

Same over here on 'The Planet' Darren - plenty of showers earlier, but nothing other than cold chavvy style rain 

I was wondering whether you'd be getting anything wintry from those - having been watching the showers on the radar! Sounds like the "Planet Thanet" snow-shield is working then...

Best hope for sleet n snow showers  here is from 7pm as wind veers E of N. and uppers drop as low as -8 from current -5.  There's a mass of showers out at sea but until we can get an easterly component they will stay mostly on the Goodwin Sands.

Snowing on and off for a couple of hours now but it's rather wet from the North Sea warmth.
Steady increase in cover though, and the high routes will be serious as there was a good 4" up there this morning.

Sub-zero spell now over and it's back to the same old coma inducing rubbish this evening with the temperature stuck on 1C since 3pm

Absolutely awful and no sign of snow despite the wind having shifted to the NW. Pointless even looking at the models as any time anything decent is shown it just dilutes with every run until it ends up with this. Rank windy nothingness which, given the high pressure outlook, should ensure 2014 is the first year ever to have no lying snow here 

More fecking rain! 

0.8C and light snow shower falling onto frozen surfaces and 2" snow cover. Temp risen from -0.1C at 8 pm.
