Heavy wet snow showers yesterday evening followed by -3.8C at 5:30 - so very crunchy.
It has got above freezing the last half hour though.

I don't think a frost was able to set in last night due to that stiff breeze coming in from what is still a relatively warm North Sea. Temperatures hadn't fallen any lower than 3.2 C at 4 am.

Stunningly beautiful afternoon. Frost reforming and some of the snow that fell briefly last night is still evident here and there. Currently +0.4C.

Wind has picked up so despite good clear spells it's still +1.3C
No real thaw of snow as ground temps remained below freezing.
Only main roads have been gritted so far as as I can see so very little traffic around,  back roads are a sheet of hard frozen icy snow.
