Hilariously they show snow for tomorrow night for parts of England. Not even mentioned as a maybe on the BBC forecast.

I tend to feel the GFS Precip charts are gash on the whole.

The GFS snow fall & accumulation charts continue to show promise for here - but the BBC NW News weather I've just seen totally played down the chances of snow here, especially in the southern half of the region. I know the 'presenter' is devout mild-junky (with little Met background/education ) but, combined with the forecasts on the MetO site, I'm starting to get worried.

Time will tell - However, the BBC weather for the week ahead at 9:55pm N24 will be an interesting one to watch later,.

Weather for the week ahead - !! Must be a nightmare for forecasters - lot's of if's buts, and uncertainty's or possibilities and potentials for next week -So she just gave a summary. "Wintry sunshine, snow risk, frost and fog!" - One to keep an eye on, however she did mention about the milder air eventually winning but a "snow risk for us all", so if the next few days doesn't deliver then maybe we could have a proper breakdown end of next week!? Who knows!?

A very upbeat and interesting local and national forecast, for those of us in the far SE...a potential period of snow tomorrow afternoon creeping up from the channel (local forecast), and another "fly in the ointment" with "potentially disruptive snowfall" on Sunday (national forecast). I stress though, those two events are for extreme south/se mainly (some risk over Dartmoor and the Mendips from tomorrow's event too I think).

Something very close to look out for, for a change down here

Yes I noticed that too. BBC forecast and metoffice forecast have Cambridge down for several hours of heavy prolonged snow on Sunday - presumably they think the front will push up further north than we currently expect...not entirely sure about that but they're the pros! I would bet against it for now though, probably more of a just in case type forecast IMO.

Meto Warning out for Sunday (SE)

 http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/public/weather/warnings/#?tab=warnings&map=Warnings&zoom=5&lon=-3.50&lat=55.50&fcTime=1421539200&regionName=se

A slow-moving band of rain will affect the area on Sunday,
the rain turning heavy at times, potentially leading to accumulations of more than 20 mm quite widely.
There is the risk that the rain could turn to sleet or settling snow,
especially over hills.

The public should be aware of the risk of localised flooding

Given the graphical forecasts I would say they will either now conform to what the majority of model output is saying and confine a rain warning to SE England for Sunday and soon abandon the TV forecasts showing snow for EA, or put in place a temp snow warning if they're still convinced the front will edge further northwards. I doubt we'll see the latter - could be a dry day for EA and a very wet and cold one for SE England.

13:25 forecast showed a band of sleet / snow crossing MBY tonight , also showed the massive uncertainty about Sunday the PPN got up as far as Coventry ( guessing) had snow on the Northern bit but rain in the South

I know these shouldn't be taken too literally but the icons on the Met Office for Halifax show snow for nearly 24 hrs tomorrow, this has been a steady upgrade over the last couple of days:

Helen Willetts on 18.57 weather BBC news just said the snow risk for weekend and next week is much reduced now. Not that I care as I never bought into it anyway.

Our local/BBC Scotland forecast highlighted the snow warnings in force and mentioned the risk of disruption from a feature on Saturday night into Sunday (albeit not here yet again due to warmer air and a coastal influence).
