Outlook for the UK over the next 6-30 days
UK Outlook for Wednesday 21 Jan 2015 to Friday 30 Jan 2015:
Outbreaks of rain, sleet or snow, probably across western and some central parts on Wednesday are likely to become increasingly confined to the southwest later. Elsewhere, some sunny spells and scattered wintry showers, especially across eastern parts. Through into the weekend, there is likely to be further showers of rain, sleet or snow for northern and eastern coastal parts, but inland areas should be mostly dry. Conditions will remain cold or very cold across the UK, with widespread overnight frosts and an increasing chance of freezing fog patches developing by night during the weekend. Thereafter, there are indications that more unsettled weather could return across the UK from the west, with temperatures gradually rising nearer to normal.
UK Outlook for Saturday 31 Jan 2015 to Saturday 14 Feb 2015:
After a rather unsettled end to January, the current signal is for these unsettled conditions to probably continue across most parts of the UK during the first half of February, particularly for northern and western parts. Southern areas are probably most likely to experience some lengthier dry and clearer spells. Temperatures are currently signalled to be rather below normal, which will bring a risk of night-time frosts, particularly across southern parts, and also a wintry mix of rain, sleet and perhaps snow in places.
