Tell you what is different about this windy spell when compared to this time last year is how there is hardly any rain, just the occasional spitty drizzle blowing about in the air - and thus there are being much less in the way of flooding issues this time round.

Quite surprised the Met O don't have a warning out for strong winds in the south this evening. Utterly awful here at the moment with wheelie bins flying down the street and trees looking as though they may snap.

Wind gradually decreasing in strength here. Not as strong as Met office forecast originally for this area of N. E. Somerset.    

 It's one of the reasons I hate really strong wind.

I don't rate my chances of getting a roofer to do this before the winds of the coming days... on the plus side, the torrential rain that followed doesn't seem to have made it into the loft space. Maybe the membrane did its job despite being about 50 years old??

 I hope it holds out OK for you Nick. Perhaps the rain being horizontal might help.
