As expected, some milder air mixing in means lower-lying areas around here are seeing sleety showers with some snow mixed in, but with a bit of elevation it's all snow.

Had a couple of heavy snow showers here about an hour ago which immediately covered the roads and grass but it's mostly melted now even with some light snow starting again now...around 1.5cm at it's height.

Approx 4 inches fresh snow this morning here in Scapegoat Hill, near Hudderdsfield.  Regular moderate snow and hail showers.  Roads could do with a plow if anyone from Kirklees MBC is here.....

Just had a brief but heavy snow shower. Stopped now but first flakes in 22 months!

Unfortunately all it's done is remove the frost from everywhere so it is less white than it was before!

Virtually continuous snow for the last hour or snow.  About 5" now on lawns. Max temp earlier in a sunny interlude was 1.3.  Temp since dropped to 0.8C as the showers have intensified.  Some blowing/drifting of lying snow off roof/fields.

There is some dark stuff to the WSW of here courtesy of some big showers pushing along the south coast. I can see the snow up in the sky, question is will some of it get down to the ground.

I will find out in the 10/15 minutes !

Looks like another shower coming soon.

Unbroken sunshine and brilliant blue skies from the word go here today - while showers have been almost continuously piling into parts of Liverpool and north Merseyside - as little as 10 miles away at times. The exact direction of the wind makes huge differences to weather type over tiny areas in these conditions.

Unfortunately Wirral is very well sheltered in most setups which is slightly frustrating, though the views looking north east of the anvils streaming eastward is quite impressive and softens the blow ever so slightly

I'm in Lechlade, SE Gloucestersire. A light snow/sleet/rain mix early this morning produced a very light spattering on frozen ground. Nearly all gone except in deep shade now.

The occluded front has just arrived here right at the coastal fringe of Kent, and as expected I'm experiencing cold blustery rain, although I think I can see wet icy splodges in the heavier bursts.
But apparently a friend who lives at Capel Le Ferne 200 m ASL and three miles inland is reporting snow falling.

There were some flakes of sleet in the shower which finally made it through the Sheppey Shield earlier - at the time of the shower it was 4.6C / dew 1.0C. Given the current synoptic setup I guess that counts as that rarest of beasts, some snowflakes from a westerly flow.

Nothing at all from the earlier radar returns as nothing made it down to ground level!
