Looking at the radar now, I can see that the tail end of the feature running down the eastern side had more of a push from the NE rather than North.  That brought the heavier snow into my area for a time just after 9pm.

An unexpected flurry for the last 20 minutes or so has given a very thin covering on roads, cars and grass. Akin to what we had on Tuesday night, maybe even less than that.

I am currently working in Northern Scotland and staying in Newtonmore in the Highlands. I have seen falling snow everyday. It really is like a Winter Wonderland up here, due to my job I get to visit some remote places, the scenery is stunning. Yesterday was basically whiteout conditions on my way back from Lairg. Have got loads of pics and vids, if I get time I will upload some. Currently -7 and forecast for an ice day brrr.

There are half a dozen tiny frozen crystalline objects on my patio table this morning. On careful inspection, they could possibly be snowflakes. The cold spell has possibly delivered IMBY

We were at some friends' place yesterday afternoon/evening, near the St Helens-Wigan border (about 75m asl). Started snowing lightly from around 6pm. This from the front that moved SSW'wards off the North Sea!

They had a dusting but, as we drove home toward the other side of St Helens, any dusting of snow cover quickly disappeared.

Twas frosty this morning, mind...

We have a new snow reports thread now, so it's probably a good time to wrap this one up.
