Quick round up:

How many people have yet to see a single snow flake fall this winter

Disappointing on the snowfall front although the snow on Saturday had the largest wet flakes I have ever seen. Also 4 cracking sunny days - 2 of which were usable at the weekend
However, much of the long range output did suggest snow over the Chilts last night although to their credit the BBC never confirmed that on any TV forecast and yesterday Stav specifically stated no snow for here.
To me this cold snap has been more like a cool snap - should we really be excited about a frost and -4c in mid January

So in summary:

As a forecast ''be aware coldest week for 2 years'' = 2/10 due to the sensationalist rubbish of pretty average winter days

Anyway, still yet to see a snowflake since March 2013. Has there ever been a winter with such a north / south divide in fortunes?

Revolting day. Showers of rain, sleet and wet snow turning the pitiful 2cm snow cover into a slushy mess. Will be a nightmare tomorrow if this all freezes

This is an embarrassingly awful cold spell for January. It's just a load of crap.

Well if the 20-25mm of rain we had this morning had been snow we would have had as much as anywhere.  Mellow

It has been chilly here with some snow and quite a bit of ice in the last few days but nothing notable.

Horrible day today over cast and drizzle with spits of light rain followed by drizzle at +10c.

This week the cold will probably never reach the south yet again we will be let down.

And the prize for the most premature moan goes to . . . .

I certainly won't be moaning if I don't see any snow this week as I wasn't expecting any. If you raise your expectations beyond what is reasonably showing in the charts, then you are risking a fall.

Now if you want to know what disappointment is, have a look at the events surrounding the infamous 'Kettley High' fiasco.

We live in deepest rural France now and have just returned to the UK for a couple of weeks to visit family and friends. Watching Winterwatch on the TV the other night, it looks as though the Cairngorms got a good pasting of snow (but you would expect that wouldn't you as it's the UK's coldest and snowiest place).

As for the south of England and Hampshire and Kent, seems like it has been another bore-fest of a winter so far with no snow to speak of! These climate change winters are leading to a virtually snow less southern Britain. Shame really as Kent especially used to get awesome cold spells!

It seems like proper snow is becoming confined to higher ground in the south.

As for us in France (Charente), we got very smalll flakes of snow in the air on Christmas Day and our coldest night so far this winter has been -6.

Not really in the no snow category after witnessing a few flakes here this winter ( nothing settling ) BUT I wonder if those that still are will see some snow this week?

Meto have a yellow warning out Wednesday/Thursday for the Northern Half.

I've been a resident of these parts all my life and I can say that I believe this these years were the best for snow for South-West Wilts since the 80's. The climate change debate or whatever people want to call it is for other places but it is clear to me that a warmer temperature of the planet doesn't necessarily mean less snow for x, y, or z.

The general trend has been for warming and this is evidenced by 2014 being the warmest year since records began. Climate change is not linear and not every year will be progressively warmer than the last. However we moved to Kent in 2011 and despite one decent fall of snow in winter 2011/12, the rest of the winter weather has been rubbish. Kent is famed for its cold snowy winters, but it has been very disappointing since 2011/12.To me it seems likely that the south of England will have fewer and fewer full on snow events over the coming decades!

Well unless the gulf stream changes course due to climate change, then things could get interesting!

For contrast, look at the winters they are experiencing on the eastern seaboard of the USA. Proper winter weather, not the poor excuse for it we get in the south!

I've had two dustings of snow so far. That's good enough for me. If I get desperate for snow, then I hop in the car and drive to the Brecon Beacons and get my fix

If anything comes of this next cold spell, then it will be a bonus. The best snowfall has always been unexpected by the MET Office.

Another piss poor excuse for a cool spell in these parts, a carbon copy of the no event last week with temps creeping upwards as the night goes on. We now await next weeks installment of alleged wintry weather and sub zero temps.πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
