We live in deepest rural France now and have just returned to the UK for a couple of weeks to visit family and friends. Watching Winterwatch on the TV the other night, it looks as though the Cairngorms got a good pasting of snow (but you would expect that wouldn't you as it's the UK's coldest and snowiest place).
As for the south of England and Hampshire and Kent, seems like it has been another bore-fest of a winter so far with no snow to speak of! These climate change winters are leading to a virtually snow less southern Britain. Shame really as Kent especially used to get awesome cold spells!
It seems like proper snow is becoming confined to higher ground in the south.
As for us in France (Charente), we got very smalll flakes of snow in the air on Christmas Day and our coldest night so far this winter has been -6.
