I wonder if Ian F can share some light as to why the tv forecasts have been quite poor and don't seem to match the model outputs and/or at times match the text forecasts and warnings.

That warning for Thursday looks fair enough given the current output. A slither of -9 850s and associated lower dps pushes accros the SE Thurs into early Fri, bringing with it the risk of trains and streamers in the usual places.

It would be quite nice if this current spell went out with something significant for the snow-starved SE coastal peeps.

beeb hinted (12:30) winds veering easterly at weekend and snow showers spreading (could) well in land or snow showers could appear in the flow _ words to that effect, either way semi promising?

we are in London this weekend so maybe some white stuff?..........

Not supported by the 120 Fax or any of the output so perhaps METO hinting of a northward push or some retrogressiion in the high. Whatever, this is likely to be very temporary as today's MET updates show high pressure dominating for a month away from the NW.

They've been hacked by some of the posters on here who have managed to find one chart from the Ecuadorian model hinting at a bit more northward positioning of the high for a day on Saturday.

Either that or they're on the same drugs as Joe B and the EC32
